VISION

MISSION

MISSION

Our nature based experiences will foster a love for the environment and provide education through repetitive engagement with nature. Through exploration, children will build confidence and a sense of wonder. Mentors will guide children to build deep-connections with their surroundings.

VALUES

MISSION

VALUES

Eunoia Forest School is guided by values that influence our daily lives and interactions: Care, Health, Inclusiveness, Respect, Responsibility and a commitment to Environmental Sustainability.

WHY FOREST SCHOOL?

Eunoia provides children with confidence and courage to learn and grow in a space that is very different than most learning opportunities today. This style of learning provides children with the courage and education to take safe-risks and push boundaries that are in a child's Zone of Proximal Development.

Social skills develop as children engage in group problem-solving strategies that create connections to their world. Navigating new terrain allows children to build strong gross- and fine-motor abilities allowing them to trust themselves and push their own boundaries. Eunoia mentors engage children to build their language and mathematic skills using the natural world and materials that are provided.

Environmental sustainability is a key component to the learning that occurs at Eunoia. Children learn a greater appreciation for the world and how to be respectful of their learning by using materials respectfully and returning them to the natural space.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Eunoia Forest School is an alternative education program in Durham Region where children are encouraged to develop self-esteem, confidence, and independence, through inquiry-based opportunities in the natural environment. Children learn to explore hands-on activities that are based on their interest and discoveries. Eunoia educators and mentors co-create learning opportunities that are rich in hands-on experiences that support their development.

"This is a wonderful camp!  My kids look forward to it every year and beg to go back when it’s over. As parents, we like it as it is fully outdoors. The kids always come back having learned something and making new friends. If you haven’t done this before give it a try." - Andrew

"One of the most important values I hold when I comes to parenting is promoting outdoor time. The research is clear - it’s just straight up good for kids! I was delighted that there was a program I could start as early as 18 months. My toddler and I loved it. It made hanging around outside all morning so easy for us. The staff and Ellisha are so lovely. I highly recommend for all families - it’s such a fun, easy, and accessible way to be outdoors with your kids!" - Cat

"This was our first experience with Eunoia Forest School but it certainly won’t be our last! Both the summer and fall programs gave our kids an opportunity to make new friends, explore the outdoors, learn new skills and grow their confidence. At every pickup we were met with huge smiles and excited stories all the way home. We are so grateful to Ellisha and the amazing team at Eunoia for delivering such a fun and engaging program with so much care." - Alicia
